  • Greene-Placentia told the Phoenix New Times she was knocked unconscious during the alleged attack and filed a report with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office two weeks later.
  • Republican incumbent Abraham Hamadeh called on authorities to "investigate these serious allegations thoroughly, including finding all possible camera footage of the time and place."
  • The New York Times reported that Greene-Placentia described the two assailants as white men, while the Phoenix New Times reported one assailant may have made a comment about her political affiliation alongside a misogynistic slur, although she said she could not be certain.
  • Greene-Placentia said she did not seek medical attention or a sexual assault examination following the alleged attack, and expressed concern that voters might view the allegation as a political stunt.
