  • Adidas has sued Australian online retailer White Fox Boutique in Australia's Federal Court, alleging the Sydney-based fast-fashion company's four-stripe clothing design is deceptively similar to its three-stripe trademark, which the sportswear giant has held in Australia for more than 50 years.
  • Adidas's barrister Patrick Flynn SC told the court on Friday that White Fox had used the four-stripe design as a trademark and rejected repeated requests to stop, describing the case as "a pretty simple matter."
  • White Fox's barrister Ed Heerey KC said the retailer would argue the four stripes are decorative rather than a trademark, pointing to similar items from brands including Princess Polly, Glassons, and Shein.
  • Justice Ian Jackman set the dispute for a hearing in early 2027; Adidas is seeking court orders preventing White Fox from making four-stripe clothing and requiring it to hand over profits from the disputed products.
