The New York Jets and right guard Joe Tippmann agreed to a four-year, $62 million contract extension, a league source told UPI on Monday. The deal includes $31 million in guaranteed money and keeps Tippmann under contract through the 2031 season.

Tippmann, 25, was entering the final year of his rookie contract after the Jets selected him in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft. He has started all 17 games in each of the past two seasons, splitting time at center and guard.

The Jets are set to hold mandatory minicamp from Tuesday through Thursday. Training camp is expected to begin in late July. The Jets will open the preseason Aug. 14 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in East Rutherford, N.J., and begin the regular season Sept. 13 at the Tennessee Titans in Nashville.
