Editorial Board Cartoons
A political cartoon can do what another thousand words cannot: put the contradiction in one frame and make it impossible to unsee. It shows who made the claim, what reality did instead, and who pays for the gap between them.
Main Street Independent built the Political Meme Generator to make that form available to anyone. Give it an article, link, quotation, screenshot, or factual summary. It finds the strongest supportable claim–reality gap and produces the cartoon rather than a recipe or a page of analysis.
One generator, two uses
Editorial Board cartoons are not the work of a fourth cartoonist persona. Barb McGowan, Hector Rentier, and Mimi Wright-Fubar are distinct character voices. The Board’s unsigned cartoons are different: they are the public generator applied by the publication to high-salience news and opinion.
Readers get the same file Main Street Independent uses, not a watered-down imitation. The method that turns the day’s consequential claims into published cartoons can work on a city-council statement, a campaign promise, a corporate press release, or the article in front of you.
The gallery is the proof
The Editorial Board cartoon gallery is a continuing record of the generator in real publication use, not a collection of product demos. Each cartoon starts from source material, makes a concrete accusation, and links back to the article, column, or documented claim it answers. New cartoons keep testing the method against live public arguments.
The range matters. The gallery shows one method working across different subjects without depending on a politician, party, visual joke, or recurring character. The source remains the factual floor.
Put the cartoon-making method in your hands
The generator is a single public-domain Markdown file. Upload it to an image-capable AI assistant with the source you want to answer, and the file supplies the complete instruction. Analysis, review, and safety checks stay behind the image unless requested; the default result is the finished cartoon.
