Woodbridge, Conn. — Authorities in the New Haven County town of Woodbridge fielded two calls about loose pigs on Tuesday, capturing one and searching for the other, according to Woodbridge Regional Animal Control.

The department said on social media that a call came in around 5:45 a.m. reporting a pig at large in a resident’s yard on Old Quarry Road. A second call reported a pig on Acorn Hill Road that residents said had been wandering the area for at least two days.

“These two roaming complaints are different pigs,” the department said.

Officers from Woodbridge worked with animal control personnel from Naugatuck and Prospect, as well as a local veterinarian, to secure one of the animals. The captured pig was taken to the Woodbridge Regional Animal Control Department.

Officials said they were unable to locate the second pig. Police said they are now trying to identify the owner or owners of the animals.

Residents in the Acorn Hill Road and Old Quarry Road area are being asked to keep an eye out for the second pig and report any sightings.
