CBS announced the initial lineup Wednesday for its “Great American Block Party 250” special, a three-hour primetime broadcast to air July 4 from Washington, D.C., to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence.
“CBS Evening News” anchor Tony Dokoupil and “Entertainment Tonight” co-host Nischelle Turner will host the special, the network said. The program will feature musical performances by Zac Brown Band, Jon Batiste, Goo Goo Dolls and The War and Treaty, among other artists.
The special will air at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and also stream on Paramount+ and CBS News 24/7. It will culminate with the fireworks display.
The broadcast will also include moments from July Fourth events in Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia and other cities, according to CBS.
Separately, the network noted that Zac Brown Band performed the national anthem at the White House UFC Freedom 250 event Sunday, which fell on President Donald Trump’s 80th birthday.
