The temporary restraining order, issued Wednesday, bars the Tennessee Department of Health from supplying federal immigration authorities with identifying information about roughly 400 seriously sick and disabled immigrant children who are enrolled in a healthcare assistance program.

Three Nashville doctors sued after state officials sent letters to healthcare providers and immigrant families saying a new law required them to share identifying information about those on the program after the end of June, according to the Associated Press. The law was part of a package of Republican-backed bills introduced this year in the Tennessee legislature aimed at supporting President Donald Trump’s immigration enforcement efforts.

A spokesperson for the Tennessee attorney general’s office said Thursday that the office had no comment and that the complaint was under review. State officials have not yet filed a response to the lawsuit in court.
