Richard Delcid, a Domino’s general manager in Manassas, Virginia, claimed the title of World’s Fastest Pizza Maker at the chain’s annual competition, held May 13 at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas. Delcid assembled three large pizzas in 31.22 seconds to win the top spot among competitors from across the globe.

The finalists were required to make three large pizzas: a pepperoni, a mushroom and a cheese. Delcid’s pizzas passed an inspection that examined how well he hand-stretched the dough, spread the sauce and distributed the toppings. For winning, he received $5,000 in prize money, a trophy and a championship belt.

“Winning this title means so much to me,” Delcid said in a news release. “This competition isn’t just about speed — it’s about delivering quality under pressure, just like we do in stores every day. Years of hard work and practice went into this moment, and I’m incredibly proud of what I accomplished. I’m especially grateful to my trainer and fellow competitor, Joe Burr, who helped me every step of the way — I wouldn’t be here today without him.”

Delcid told WUSA-TV that he got his start at Domino’s when his sister hired him in high school. “Honestly, she didn’t see me as a manager,” he said. “Now she’s like, ‘Wow.’”
