Cell’s name echoes first artificial satellite
Scientists have created the most advanced synthetic cell yet made in a laboratory. They have named it “Spudcell,” a name that echoes Sputnik, the first artificial satellite, according to a report by NPR.
The cell can adapt and learn survival skills, the researchers said.
