NTSB to investigate crash in Colorado foothills
A small helicopter crashed Monday morning in a neighborhood near Larkspur, Colo., seriously injuring one person, officials said.
Members of the Larkspur Fire Protection District responded to the scene and treated a patient, according to a statement from the agency. The pilot was then airlifted to a trauma center with serious injuries.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said authorities have contacted the National Transportation Safety Board, which will investigate the crash. Larkspur is in Douglas County, in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.
There was no fire, and first responders contained a fuel spill while at the scene, officials said. Officials did not immediately state a cause, and the NTSB will investigate.
