Recording captures father’s howls as he finds the children
Lindsay Clancy sobbed in a Plymouth, Massachusetts, courtroom Wednesday as jurors listened to the recorded 911 call her then-husband, Patrick Clancy, made after finding she had strangled their three children at the family’s home, the Associated Press reported.
On the roughly seven-minute recording, Patrick Clancy can initially be heard speaking with his wife outside the home. He had discovered her badly injured and bleeding in the yard after she jumped from a second-story window, the AP reported.
He then tells the dispatcher he is going to check on the children. Moments later, the recording captured him howling and crying after finding them in the basement. As the dispatcher repeatedly asks what happened, he yells, “She killed the kids!”
The playing of the 911 call marked the second day of Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial, which is being held in Plymouth, Massachusetts.
Prosecutors are presenting evidence related to the deaths of the three children, the AP reported. Patrick Clancy, who was the first to report the deaths, is a key witness in the case.
