Multiple women have accused congressman of domestic violence
The new filing, dated Thursday, alleges that on Feb. 1, Miller “physically grabbed” attorney Andrew Zashin during a hearing. According to the filing, Moreno told Miller, “Get your hands off of him.” The filing further alleges that as Zashin began to turn around, Miller continued to “goad Attorney Zashin into a confrontation by saying ‘Come at me!’ or similar language.”
The filing also alleges Miller used a slur to insult Zashin’s fiancée as they were leaving the courtroom.
“Unless restrained, [Miller] will continue to harass, threaten and communicate with my counsel directly,” Moreno said in the filing.
Emily Moreno is the daughter of Sen. Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio. She and Rep. Miller were married from 2022 to 2024 and have a daughter together.
In the broader custody dispute, Emily Moreno has alleged multiple incidents of domestic abuse during the marriage. She alleged in court records that Miller threw hot water on her from the stove, threw her against a wall, and broke their 2-year-old daughter’s collar bone. She said her daughter told her, “Daddy kill you.”
Emily Moreno already holds a restraining order against Miller for the alleged abuse.
Miller has denied all allegations. He previously took out a restraining order against Moreno, which was eventually dismissed by a judge. He has alleged that Moreno has bipolar disorder and that she broke the child’s clavicle.
Stephanie Grisham, a former White House staffer whom Miller dated, has also accused him of domestic violence. Grisham wrote a book about her experience at the White House and described the allegations in a Washington Post column, including detailing the Trumps’ response to her accusations.
Miller is a former White House aide to President Donald Trump. He and Moreno were married at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in a ceremony at which Trump made a toast.
Miller is running for re-election in Ohio’s 7th District, which represents parts of Cleveland and northern Ohio.
