Edwards to serve out term for North Carolina’s 11th district
Rep. Chuck Edwards, a North Carolina Republican, said Wednesday he will not seek re-election, two days after the House Ethics Committee concluded that he had made unwelcome sexual advances to female staffers.
Edwards announced his decision in a short post on X early Wednesday, saying he would complete his current term representing North Carolina’s 11th congressional district.
“Serving Western North Carolina has been the honor of my life,” he wrote on X. “Thank you for your trust, prayers, and support. God bless WNC and America.”
The announcement follows the House Ethics Committee’s conclusion that Edwards made unwelcome sexual advances to female staffers.
