Florida authorities seek trio accused of cemetery thefts across at least nine states

Trio identified as mother, daughter, and daughter’s boyfriend from Indianapolis

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office in Florida has arrest warrants out for three Indianapolis residents accused of breaking into cemetery niches and mausoleums across at least nine states and stealing family heirlooms and other valuables, authorities said.

Corporal Cole Brazee of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspects in a video shared to social media. Brazee named them as Angela Garrett, 52; her daughter, Porsche Bancroft, 32; and Bancroft’s boyfriend, Drake Lee Milam, 33. All three are from Indianapolis.

According to Brazee, the group “went on a tour of the eastern half of the United States,” breaking into cemetery niches and mausoleums in multiple states. The warrants would allow the suspects to be extradited to Florida to face charges there.

Detectives are investigating 20 cases in Florida and believe there could be many more, according to the sheriff’s office. Brazee alleged the suspects also targeted cemeteries in Oklahoma, Minnesota, Texas, Georgia, Iowa, North Carolina and New York. The sheriff’s office said the thefts span at least nine states.

The stolen items included family heirlooms and other valuables taken from niches and mausoleums, according to the sheriff’s office.
