Agent runs on dedicated virtual machine, can fill forms and negotiate
Meta launched a personal artificial intelligence agent called Muse on Tuesday, making it available to U.S. users 18 and older through a dedicated app and the WhatsApp messaging platform. The parent company of Facebook and Instagram is positioning the product as a helper for everyday tasks such as managing schedules and shopping, alongside longer-term objectives the company describes as turning “long-term goals into action plans.”
In a blog post announcing the launch, Meta said Muse can field simple requests like sending an email or booking travel, as well as more substantial undertakings such as creating a yearlong exercise plan or setting up a new business. “Once a person shares a goal with Muse, it helps them develop a personalized plan and coordinate their time and resources, then advances the work on its own. It can open a browser, fill out forms, and negotiate on their behalf,” the company said.
Meta is emphasizing the safety and privacy architecture of the new agent. According to the company, Muse runs on a dedicated, secure virtual machine that houses both the agent and the user’s data.
People can message the agent in the separate Muse app or inside WhatsApp. For now, the service is only available in the United States.
