Three $45,000 gifts equal roughly 30 percent of recipients’ $150,000 salaries
The four gifts were documented in the aides’ annual financial disclosure forms, which the administration published last week.
Harp serves as Trump’s executive assistant, Martin as his communications adviser, Harris as deputy director of Oval Office operations, and Nauta as director of Oval Office operations.
At the disclosed salary levels, the $45,000 gifts represent roughly 30 percent of the three recipients’ annual compensation. Nauta, who earns $175,000 annually, received $20,000.
In response to the disclosures, the anonymous White House official said Trump “has a longstanding practice of giving Christmas gifts to people in his orbit, including at times employees and aides, both in government and in his time in the private sector.”
