Organisers say each light represented a victim of the 9/11 attacks
According to organisers, 2,977 drones recreated the Twin Towers at full scale, with each light representing a victim of the 9/11 attacks.
The artwork is titled “2,977 Lights Over New York Harbor.” Organisers described it as a commemorative public art installation.
The installation was created in collaboration with artists, producers and members of the 9/11 community, including victims’ families, survivors and first responders.
