Spokesperson labels charges ‘bogus,’ says Peters not yet served warrant
After the Massachusetts charges became public this month, the online influencer Braden Peters — known as “Clavicular” in the “looksmaxxing” community — posted a video on X that appeared to show his accuser, as well as a handwritten note. “Happens to all successful young men, people try to come for your money,” he wrote.
A spokesperson for Peters told CBS News, the BBC’s US partner, that the charges are “bogus” and that Peters has yet to be served with an arrest warrant.
Court records filed in Orleans District Court in Massachusetts charge Peters with rape, providing liquor to a person under the legal US drinking age, and drugging someone for sexual intercourse. The alleged offenses occurred in May 2025. The criminal complaint, filed this month, does not identify the alleged victim.
The criminal case follows a separate civil lawsuit filed earlier this year by a woman who alleges Peters served her several rounds of vodka and had nonconsensual sex with her at his parents’ home on Cape Cod. The woman said she was a minor at the time and also accused Peters of injecting her with a non-FDA approved substance. Peters has denied the civil allegations.
Peters was also charged earlier this year in Florida after he filmed himself shooting at what appeared to be a dead alligator, for which he pleaded no contest to unlawfully discharging a firearm in public, according to court records.
Clavicular is known for his role in an online movement called “looksmaxxing,” centred on maximising physical attractiveness.
