Investigation covers five hospitals from February 2024 to last month

Ontario Provincial Police have charged a 34-year-old Burlington woman with 65 offences, including fraud and theft, for allegedly stealing from patients and staff at five healthcare facilities across the province, police said.

Nassim Eronn faces charges that include 34 counts of fraud under $5,000, 13 counts of theft under $5,000, and seven counts of disobeying a court order, according to police. Additional charges include breach of trust and impersonation.

“The investigation was initiated following multiple reports of theft and fraud involving patients and staff members within healthcare facilities,” police said in a statement.

The incidents under investigation began in February 2024 and continued until as recently as last month, police said. The suspect worked at health centres across the province.

Ontario Provincial Police opened the investigation in May after a report of theft while the suspect worked at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, about 130 km north of Toronto. “This investigation was prompted by several complaints of theft and fraud from patients and staff within the hospital,” police said at the time.

The probe was later expanded to other facilities, where further incidents were uncovered. “Multiple search warrants were executed where significant amounts of property were seized,” police said. Photos released by Ontario Provincial Police showed items seized during the investigation.

It remains unclear what the suspect’s specific duties were at the hospitals.

The charges cover five healthcare facilities:

  • Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital (Orillia, Ontario): April 2025 to March 2026
  • Headwaters Health Care Centre (Orangeville, Ontario): August 2026 to September 2026
  • Trillium Health Partners, Mississauga Hospital (Mississauga, Ontario): August 2025 to July 2026
  • St Joseph’s Health Centre (Toronto, Ontario): July 2024 to January 2025
  • West Park Health Care Centre (Toronto, Ontario): February 2024 to April 2024

Burlington, where the suspect resides, is approximately 56 km (34 miles) south of Toronto.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims beyond those identified so far and have urged members of the public to review financial records for suspicious transactions and to come forward with relevant information.
