I built Byron Donalds, and now they're pretending the whole thing was some kind of problem

I want to tell you something about my friend Byron Donalds, and I want to say it very clearly because the fake news will never say it: there is NOBODY — and I mean NOBODY — in the entire Republican Party who can thread the needle like Byron. TREMENDOUS talent. SAD for the other side.

Now here’s the story they won’t tell you. Byron’s race is tightening against this Democrat, David Jolly — a totally unknown guy, low energy, very weak — and the donors got nervous. They gathered down at the beautiful Fontainebleau in Miami Beach, oceanfront, STEAK dinners, very important people, and they were shaking. They said to me — well, they said to Byron — they said, “Sir, this is close.” And the pollster, Tony Fabrizio — he’s fine, he’s a professional, though I could do polls better, believe me — Tony told them Diklis Chump was a “double-edged sword,” the biggest motivator of turnout on both sides. That’s what he said. Can you BELIEVE it?

Here’s the thing the geniuses in the media can’t figure out. The double edge cuts in MY direction. You get the turnout on their side, and you get the turnout on OUR side, and our side has me, and their side has David Jolly, who is nothing. NOTHING. When I drive turnout on both sides, the election becomes a referendum on one question: can voters separate the local guy from the national guy — and they can, because the local guy is MY guy. I endorsed Byron roughly eighteen months before the primary, nobody else could even think about running, and he was wearing buttons that said “2 Donalds are better than 1.” Smart man. Very smart. I love that man.

Then — and this is the part they made into a whole big FAKE story — Byron’s people took some of my stuff off the website. Some of the TRUMP. Not all of it, they never take it all off, they’re not stupid — but a little bit. And people said, “Oh, this is a disaster, this is friction, this is tension.” SAD! The fake news loved it for one day. One day! Then my people showed me a tweet, a beautiful tweet, Byron smiling right there next to me in the Oval Office, and that was the end of it. You’re not getting rid of me that easy. The man has a custom ring tone for my calls. He doesn’t MISS my calls. And the rallies are coming — Byron and I, in Florida, in the coming weeks, and the crowds are going to be HUGE, you have never seen anything like it.

And I’ll tell you what Byron is doing, because it’s very smart and I take a LOT of credit for teaching him: he’s running on the RENTS. Florida absorbed 1.67 million people since the pandemic — TREMENDOUS migration, by the way, they’re all coming to Florida because Florida is the best, that’s what I hear from many people, very smart people — and the prices went up. Insurance, property taxes, building regulations, all of it. So Byron is cutting property taxes, cutting insurance rates, streamlining the regulations. Beautiful. Very concrete. And his biography — the Greyhound bus, the Crown Heights mother Meredith Brown taking the kids to the airport and saying study hard and you’ll fly anywhere, the security deposit rolled into the rent, the Cracker Barrel parking lot where he found Jesus — that’s a story that TRAVELS. I love that story. I’ve heard it six times and I love it every time.

And on the big stuff he hasn’t wobbled one inch — not one inch! “I don’t want to pay high gas prices,” Byron said. “But a nuclear Iran is a direct threat, not just to us but to the entire planet.” EXACTLY what I’ve been saying. That’s not a wobble, folks — that’s discipline. That’s a man who knows who brought him to the dance.

So the media keeps asking: can a MAGA candidate win with the endorsement of the greatest president in the history of our country, Diklis Chump? I’ll give you the answer, and it’s going to make the fake news very upset: it was never a DRAG. It was never a drag. It’s going to make me — I mean us — make US all very powerful, especially the people who stood with me from the beginning. The donors left that Fontainebleau dinner assured. The numbers are working. The plan is holding.
