They feed you this one with a fork: crooks stole the kids’ food money, now the state needs a fixer. Fine. I’ll take that part.

The money was for pandemic meals for hungry children. Estimates run from three hundred million dollars to billions, and the total is still unknown — holy shit, that is not a rounding error, that is nobody keeping score. The agencies just signed off on the grants. Klobuchar said it herself: a line item skyrocketing on one program should be an immediate red alert. Right. It should have been. And the state whose entire sales pitch is ‘our taxes may be high, but we have good government and services’ let it run with nobody pulling the damn alarm.

So who eats that? Not the officials. Tim Walz quit. Didn’t face the voters, abandoned his third-term bid, and the scandal becomes somebody else’s problem. Now the senator asking to take his seat is running on no new taxes, working with Republicans, and cutting red tape. Streamlining government. The same goddamn government. The one that signed the checks.

That’s the whole bullshit scam in one sentence: the line item that should have been a red alert is now the reason to shrink the people who’d have to read it. Break the watchdog, then campaign on how loud it should have barked.

And keep your hands off the immigrants. Trump and the GOP have been flogging this as proof that refugees are the problem. The people who robbed hungry kids are criminals — that does not make a whole community guilty, and any flag-humping fraud telling you otherwise is using a child’s stolen lunch to win an argument about Somali families. Take the flag pin off before you hand us the bill.

They were supposed to feed the children. The money is gone, the total is a blank line, the Governor walked, and the fixer wants less goddamn tape. Eat shit.
