Mullin says American worker must not be ‘undercut and cheated’ by slave labor
The Trump administration on Friday added 43 companies to the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act entity list, the largest single addition to the trade blacklist, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The Department of Homeland Security announced the additions, which target entities accused of exploiting Uyghur workers. Secretary Markwayne Mullin said, “The American worker must not be undercut and cheated by foreign companies that use slave labor.”
The entity list, created under the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act, bars imports from companies placed on it. The 43 additions represent the most ever added to the blacklist in a single action, the Journal reported.
