Firm’s top revenue producers among those in talks to leave
The Wall Street Journal reported Friday that Weil, Gotshal & Manges is facing a wave of partner defections, with two groups that include star lawyers in discussions to leave for rival firms. The Journal’s Morning Risk Report, citing people familiar with the matter, said some of the lawyers considering departure are among the firm’s highest revenue producers. The Journal did not name the lawyers, the rival firms they are considering, or the timing of any potential moves.
