Chanel has filed a lawsuit against The RealReal, a luxury reseller, according to NPR.
The NPR report, authored by reporter Amanda Aronczyk and published on September 4, 2026 in the broadcaster’s business section, identifies the authentication of secondhand luxury goods purchased online as the focus of the suit. NPR wrote that the question of how to verify a secondhand luxury good bought online is real is “at the heart of” the suit.
