BBC Verify reports Lincoln wear not unusual despite deployment, experts say

Observers questioned Lincoln’s condition after Thailand arrival

The USS Abraham Lincoln, a US aircraft carrier that docked in Thailand this week, displayed visible rust and surface wear after approximately nine months at sea, in what BBC Verify describes as deployment in support of the US-Israel war with Iran. Some people were quick to criticise the condition it was in shortly after its arrival, according to BBC Verify.

BBC Verify consulted military experts about the carrier’s appearance. The experts told BBC Verify that, although the length of the carrier’s deployment is unusual, the wear and tear is not.

The carrier’s months at sea have been spent in support of the US-Israel war with Iran, according to BBC Verify.
