Property reportedly bought by actor Nicolas Cage in 2024
A massive sinkhole opened Tuesday morning in the driveway of a beachfront Malibu, California home reportedly owned by actor Nicolas Cage. Local authorities said the driveway of the beachfront house collapsed Tuesday morning. The City of Malibu said in a written statement that it ordered the evacuation of houses on the affected street and set up a temporary shelter for evacuees.
Aerial footage published by BBC News shows the sinkhole extending across the front of the residence.
The home is reportedly owned by actor Nicolas Cage. BBC News reported that the actor bought the property in 2024.
In its statement, the City of Malibu said the evacuation order covered all houses on the street where the property sits, with the temporary shelter set up to accommodate displaced residents.
