Migration and Trump Ukraine policy cited as other budget headaches
The Guardian’s Politics Weekly podcast devoted its Monday episode to Andy Burnham’s claim that Russia interfered in the 2016 Brexit referendum. Burnham also says he wants the UK to have closer ties to the EU, The Guardian reported. Presented by Pippa Crerar and Jessica Elgot, the episode examined the question of whether Burnham was right to raise the Russian interference allegation publicly. The Guardian reported that the claim had “started an almighty row.”
According to The Guardian, the row is one of three major headaches for the prime minister ahead of his crucial budget at the end of October. The other two, The Guardian said, are migration and Donald Trump’s “erratic response to Ukraine and Russia.”
The Guardian linked to a separate article by Jessica Elgot referencing the Labour party conference.
The episode was produced by May Robson and Nada Smiljanic, with music by Axel Kacoutié and executive production by Maz Ebtehaj. The Guardian released the podcast on Monday at 17:50 Central European Summer Time and distributed it through Apple Podcasts, Spotify, an RSS feed, and a downloadable file, alongside a YouTube version on the Politics Weekly channel.
