Witnesses describe man falling from Goliath ride
Six Flags temporarily closed nine rollercoasters at six amusement parks on Monday, after one person died and several others were injured on the Goliath ride at Six Flags Over Georgia, The Guardian reported. The Guardian said the closures extend to parks in six states.
The fatal incident occurred at Six Flags Over Georgia. Officials had not confirmed the cause of the death or the conditions of those who were injured, according to The Guardian.
Witnesses who spoke to NBC affiliate WXIA of Atlanta said they saw a man fall from the Goliath. “He fell and hit the car three different times,” one witness told the station.
The Guardian’s report was accompanied by aerial video showing people being rescued from a rollercoaster at the park.
