Mississippi attorney general announced June shooting ‘was justified’
The footage, released on 21 October, records the police shooting of one-year-old Kohen Wiley, who was killed on 14 June in Senatobia, Mississippi. The Guardian published the footage in a deconstructed video analysis.
The release came after the Mississippi attorney general announced that the shooting “was justified,” according to The Guardian. The officer who shot into the vehicle and killed Wiley resigned from the Senatobia police department after the video was made public.
The footage was made public more than four months after the shooting.
