North American net revenue fell 1.3% as Lysol manufacturing was disrupted

Reckitt said Tuesday that it had cut its 2026 like-for-like net revenue growth outlook for its core business to 3.5% to 4.5% from 4% to 5%. The British consumer-goods company, which makes Lysol cleaning spray and Mucinex cough medicine, said a disruption in Lysol manufacturing weighed on North American sales.

For the core business, Reckitt booked like-for-like revenue growth of 3.3% and revenue of 2.69 billion pounds ($3.59 billion) in the third quarter. Reckitt excludes Mead Johnson Nutrition and the disposal of its Essential home business from that measure.

During its half-year results at the end of July, Reckitt issued the previous 4% to 5% like-for-like net revenue growth guidance for its core business in 2026. The company said the revised guidance was partially due to the Lysol disruption, which it attributed to temporary manufacturing capacity constraints.

Like-for-like net revenue in the North America region fell 1.3% in the quarter. Reckitt said the regional sales slump was tied to the Lysol manufacturing disruption.

Reckitt expects a rebound from Lysol and North America in the fourth quarter as it resolves the issues. The company attributed the disruption to temporary manufacturing capacity constraints and said the recovery should follow as those issues are resolved.

Shares of Reckitt Benckiser (RKT) were down 0.94%.

The lowered outlook leaves Reckitt’s full-year forecast tied to whether it can resolve the manufacturing issues in time to produce the fourth-quarter recovery it expects. Reckitt’s current like-for-like net revenue growth range for the core business and its fourth-quarter rebound plan are company projections. The 3.3% third-quarter like-for-like revenue growth for the core business and the 1.3% North American like-for-like net revenue decline are company-reported results.
