Three Names. One Wood Chipper. No Reform Gets to Take Those.

Marco Rubio sat in front of Congress and said, “No children are dying on my watch.” Elon Musk wrote on X that deaths in Africa went down after they gutted USAID, and dared anyone to name one kid who died. “Not a single name,” he said.

Abdullahi Ibrahim was ten. Asthma since five. His father drove him on a motorcycle taxi to the clinic for free inhalers — USAID paid. Then the funding stopped. The drugs weren’t free anymore. Abdullahi’s last words were “Daddy, I can’t breathe well.” He died.

Purity Wamboi was sixteen. Tuberculosis. Community health promoters paid by USAID could have caught it with home visits. Most stopped working when USAID withdrew. By the time someone found her, TB had consumed part of her lungs. She died in an Uber on the way to the hospital.

Ibrahim Garba was eight. Typhoid from dirty water. The clinic gave him antibiotics free — USAID picked up the tab. Then the meds weren’t free. His family couldn’t afford the new round. They tried herbs and prayer. Four days later, Ibrahim died. “The day we lost him,” his father said, “it felt like everything stopped working.”

Dr. Brooke Nichols, an infectious disease modeler at Boston University, estimates more than 700,000 people have died from the abrupt stopping of USAID — more than half a million of them children.

Musk told the world he was feeding USAID into a wood chipper. Rubio told Congress nobody was dying. The State Department pointed to bilateral agreements that represent a 22 to 23 percent decrease in US health funding — and came too late for any of these three kids.

These elephant-branded cowards didn’t cut waste. They cut the tube out of a ten-year-old’s nose and called it fiscal responsibility. They gutted the community health network that could have caught a sixteen-year-old’s TB before it ate her lungs. They pulled free antibiotics from an eight-year-old’s hands and told the world nobody died.

Fucking bullshit. Every single one of these deaths is on the man who fed USAID into a wood chipper and the coward who sat in front of Congress and said no children were dying. Three children had names. Three families have graves. And the men who killed them are still on television calling it reform.

Eat shit. You knew exactly what you were doing.
