They told you they were draining the swamp. They were draining the goddamn hospital.
$11.4 billion cut from state and local health departments. A third of the cybersecurity workforce — the people who actually guard your elections — fired. The FBI lost 2,800 agents. They proposed slashing another $707 million from the agency that stops hackers from wrecking your ballot.
And then Trump stood at a podium and gave a national address about election security. With a straight face. The same goddamn week a parasitic outbreak gave five states “explosive” diarrhea because nobody was left to track it.
Measles is on track for the worst year since they declared it eliminated. A flesh-eating fly is marching toward the cattle supply because they held up the funding that could slow it down. They gutted climate science offices while wildfire smoke chokes the air people breathe.
This isn’t efficiency. This is bullshit dressed up as a budget line. They cut the people who keep you alive and then acted like the disease was the problem.
They didn’t cut these programs because they stopped working. They cut them because they were working. The cybersecurity people were stopping attacks. The health trackers were catching outbreaks. The climate scientists were warning you about exactly the disasters arriving now.
You elected someone who said he’d protect you. He fired the people actually protecting you, handed the savings to donors, and now you’re eating lettuce that might give you parasites while the sky turns orange every summer.
Take the “drain the swamp” sign and shove it. What they drained was the medicine cabinet, the fire station, and the lock on the goddamn door. And every last flag-humping fraud who told you this was about fiscal responsibility can go straight to hell.
