They poisoned the farmland. On purpose.
The Trump EPA just killed proposed limits on PFAS — forever chemicals — in the sewage sludge they spread on farm fields and call fertilizer. Their own scientists found that anything above one part per billion raises cancer risk for farmers. So they threw the research out. Not revised it. Tossed it.
The waste management industry lobbied against the rules because dumping toxic sludge on cropland is cheap and profitable. The EPA’s new position is that sludge isn’t a ‘wide threat’ because it’s supposedly only on about 1% of farmland. Except no government agency has ever tracked where the stuff actually goes. They made up a number to protect a profit.
Here’s what the EPA’s own science said before they burned it: kids drinking milk from contaminated farms — more than 36 out of every thousand could get cancer. Non-cancer health risk jumps 319 times. In Maine, over a hundred farms are wrecked, including organic farms that didn’t know the soil was poisoned. Chemicals spread decades ago are still killing the land. Every sludge sample Maine and Michigan tested came back positive for PFAS. Every single one.
And the EPA’s advice to the American public? ‘Research sludge companies yourself.’ That’s not regulation. That’s a goddamn dare.
They are telling farmers and rural families to go fuck themselves while the waste industry cashes the check. This is what ‘draining the swamp’ actually looks like — they drained it onto your field, charged you for the privilege, and told you to Google whether it’s safe.
Family values. Patriotism. Standing up for the forgotten man. Bullshit. They sold the farmer a flag and buried the cancer in the soil. The waste lobby got protection. Your kid got the milk.
