Three seafarers were killed in attacks by Iran using cruise missiles in the Strait of Hormuz as part of the ongoing conflict.

  • The Minoan Pioneer’s crew reported an unknown projectile, a fire and a missing third engineer in the Strait of Hormuz.
  • The International Maritime Organization says 6,000 seafarers remain on 500 vessels in the Gulf.
  • Seventeen seafarers have died since hostilities began, with the majority dying following Iranian strikes.
  • Lloyd’s List analysts counted 84 vessel movements through the strait from 27 July to 2 August, compared with an average of 700 per week before the conflict.
