European deliveries climb 5% as Leapmotor brand adds 25,000 vehicles
Stellantis said Monday that global shipments — vehicle deliveries to dealers, distributors, or directly from the company to retail and fleet customers — rose to an estimated 1.6 million units in the second quarter.
The growth was concentrated in North America, where Stellantis shipped roughly 122,000 more vehicles than in the same period a year earlier, a 38% increase. The company credited new or refreshed products and powertrain offerings, including the V8-powered Ram light-duty truck, the new Ram 1500 TRX SRT, the refreshed Jeep Grand Wagoneer and Grand Cherokee, and the refreshed Chrysler Pacifica. The ramp-up of the all-new Jeep Cherokee and the all-new Dodge Charger also contributed, according to Stellantis.
European shipments rose by 39,000 vehicles, a 5% increase compared with the prior year. The company cited recent launches including the Citroen C3, Citroen C3 Aircross, Opel Frontera, and Fiat Grande Panda. Leapmotor-branded vehicles, produced through Stellantis’s joint venture with the Chinese EV maker, also contributed to European growth, with shipments increasing by 25,000 units to around 33,000 vehicles.
Not all regions shared in the gains. Stellantis said vehicle shipments fell 3% across the Middle East & Africa, reflecting the impact of regional conflict. Shipments also dropped 3% in South America and were flat in Asia Pacific.
