Combined company valued at more than $65 billion; closing expected by mid-2027
McCormick & Company said Thursday it will seek a secondary listing on the London Stock Exchange, adding a European trading venue alongside its existing New York Stock Exchange listing after a planned merger with Unilever’s foods business closes.
The maker of spices and seasonings disclosed the plan as it moves forward with the previously announced deal. The London listing would follow the closing of that deal, which the companies expect by mid-2027.
The proposed combination would create a company valued at more than $65 billion, including debt.
The transaction is part of a broader strategy by Unilever, the London-based company, to sharpen its focus on beauty, personal care and home products. The deal would transfer Unilever’s food portfolio to McCormick, leaving Unilever concentrated in its remaining categories.
