Alsobrooks learned of crypto from daughter, campaign voters
The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday that Sen. Angela Alsobrooks (D., Md.) has identified President Trump’s income from meme coins and crypto deals as a concern about a cryptocurrency bill advancing in Washington.
According to the Journal’s Morning Risk Report, Alsobrooks first learned about cryptocurrency from her 21-year-old daughter and later heard about it from voters on the campaign trail. The freshman senator “got curious and eventually became one of the Democratic champions” of the bill as it moved through Washington, the Journal reported.
The Journal said Alsobrooks’s reservation centers on Trump’s earnings from digital assets, which the Journal reported totaled $1.4 billion from meme coins and crypto deals.
