Proceeds to fund home rebuilding, school repairs, child welfare, and mental health services
Latin music stars are gathering in Miami this week for a livestreamed benefit concert aimed at communities affected by earthquakes in Venezuela and Colombia.
Marc Anthony, Luis Fonsi, Chayanne, Feid, and Jay Wheeler are among the performers scheduled to take the stage on Aug. 16 for “Unidos por Los Nuestros” — “United for Our Own.” Additional artists are also slated to appear at the benefit, which will be livestreamed from Miami.
The Aug. 16 benefit will direct proceeds from online donations and ticket sales to five humanitarian organizations supporting relief in both countries. The relief priorities include rebuilding homes, repairing schools and community spaces, supporting children, and providing mental health services, among other initiatives.
Anthony’s Maestro Cares Foundation will administer the funds alongside the Univision Foundation. The two organizations will direct the proceeds to five humanitarian nonprofits: All Hands and Hearts, CARE, Global Empowerment Mission, Techo, and World Central Kitchen.
“Uniting for a common cause — taking action and helping fellow human beings facing hardship — is a duty we all share,” said Anthony, a multiple Grammy Award winner.
The concert will be livestreamed from Miami, allowing online donations from viewers alongside ticket sales from in-person attendees. Both online donations and ticket proceeds collected during the broadcast will go toward the relief priorities.
