Polymarket was founded in 2020 by CEO Shayne Coplan

The prediction-markets company Polymarket has named Warren Jenson, a former chief financial officer at Amazon and NBC, as its first company-wide finance chief. Jenson previously served as finance chief of Amazon, Electronic Arts, Delta Air Lines, and NBC.

Most recently, Jenson was chief financial officer at Nielsen, which he left in January 2025. Before that, he spent more than four years as president and chief financial officer of the data platform LiveRamp.

The appointment comes as Polymarket expands its U.S. platform after gaining regulatory oversight from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Earlier this summer, Polymarket brought in Travis VanderZanden, who founded a scooter-sharing business, as its chief growth officer.

The company was founded in 2020 by Shayne Coplan, a 28-year-old who has served as chief executive since then. “We’re assembling the team to match the opportunity in front of us,” Coplan said.

Polymarket is valued at around $21 billion following a recent $1 billion funding round. 1789 Capital, the venture capital and growth equity firm where Donald Trump Jr. is a partner, is investing about $300 million in Polymarket. Intercontinental Exchange, one of Polymarket’s biggest backers along with 1789 Capital, disclosed a $1.6 billion stake earlier this year.

Polymarket has a data partnership with Dow Jones, the publisher of The Wall Street Journal.

The company was one of the early entrants in the prediction-markets sector and has been competing with Kalshi for the top position among prediction-market operators. Other companies, including Robinhood and DraftKings, have launched competing products more recently, adding to the competition in the sector.

Polymarket has faced scrutiny over its U.S. marketing practices. Senators have called for a federal investigation into the company, including into social-media promotion of fake bets.
