Houthi push at Bab al-Mandeb complicates U.S. war with Iran
The Wall Street Journal reported that Iran-backed Houthis have launched a quick offensive aimed at taking Yemen’s southwestern coast and controlling the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, opening a new front in the Middle East war.
A Journal video report by video journalist Conor Finnegan and senior video and national security correspondent Shelby Holliday described how the Houthis and other Iranian allies have moved to choke off oil shipments and attack Saudi Arabian exports. Those moves have pushed oil prices higher and “sent shock waves around the world,” the Journal reported.
The offensive complicates the U.S. war with Iran, according to the Journal.
