I did everything they told us to do. I voted for the guy who said he would bring prices down on day one. Day one came and went. Day 365 came and went. Now we are three goddamn years in and my grocery bill is higher, my gas is a dollar more, and my union brothers at the airport just got told the overtime tax break does not apply to them — but the billionaire dumping $1.6 trillion into buying this election? He is doing just fucking great.
They promised the economy would get better for working people. It got better for the people who own the working people. The rest of us got a tariff that hammered our own jobs, a tax bill that carved us out of the deduction, and a war that pumped gas prices through the roof while the administration patted itself on the back.
Here is what really gets me. They knew. They knew the promise was bullshit when they made it. ‘I will bring prices down starting day one’ — they said it like flipping a switch. It was never a switch. It was bait. The whole damn thing was bait, and they cast it right at the people who needed it to be real.
Eat shit, every last sanctimonious fraud who sold us that bill of goods. You cashed the donor check before the boxes were unpacked. Day one my ass.
