They threw 750,000 people off their health insurance and called it fraud prevention.

JD Vance stood up and announced it like a trophy. A “fraud taskforce” decided three-quarters of a million enrollees weren’t entitled to their subsidies, and the administration is calling the whole thing a savings of $2.2 billion a year.

Two billion. Here’s what they don’t put on the poster: the goddamn One Big Beautiful Bill they passed last year is expected to add $4.1 trillion to the deficit over ten years, mostly tax cuts for the richest Americans. They need $2.2 billion of blood from people who get sick so they can hand $4.1 trillion to people who don’t.

And last week they mailed $500 checks to nearly a million people, touting their healthcare “wins.” Five hundred dollars. That’s what your coverage is worth to them — enough for a press release and a photo.

Meanwhile the deficit they swore they’d fix is racing toward $2 trillion this fiscal year, about 6% of GDP, up some 18% from Biden’s last year. Fiscal discipline, my ass. They cancelled the Biden subsidies first and roughly 3 million people dropped their coverage. Now they’re back for whoever’s left, and the Medicaid and food-stamp cuts they deliberately timed for after the midterms are still coming down the pike.

This isn’t policy. It’s punishment with a budget line. They need somebody to hit so the base feels something, and sick people are cheap and close to the ground. Trump’s crowd thinks hitting the poor is their last winning card.

Eat shit. You took insurance away from people to finance a tax cut for the people who own the place, then you bragged about the $2.2 billion you saved. Go to hell.
