Visit to include event with embassy workers, business officials
President Donald Trump plans to travel to Ireland next month to attend the Irish Open at his Doonbeg golf course in County Clare, according to a White House official who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the trip publicly.
The two-day visit, scheduled for Sept. 12 and 13, will pair the tournament appearance with a separate event bringing together U.S. embassy workers and business officials, the official said.
The Irish Open will be played at Trump International Golf Links Ireland, a property in Doonbeg on Ireland’s Atlantic coast in County Clare.
The Trump Organization’s day-to-day operations are run by Trump’s sons.
