Anthropic CEO called for AI development to slow, be monitored
BBC News published a video feature in which it spoke to people in Washington DC about their concerns over artificial intelligence and its speedy development. The BBC said it spoke to those people “to learn how concerned they are over the technology and it’s speedy development.”
The video was published after Anthropic chief executive Dario Amodei over the weekend called for the pace of AI development to slow and be more closely monitored. The BBC’s article described the rapid development of AI and fears over the risks it poses to humanity as having been “thrust into the spotlight by a series of warnings from executives and staff at AI firms.”
The video, by Meiying Wu, carries the headline “‘Great’ or ‘alarming’ — Should AI be reined in?”
