Oil slips on prospect of faster Saudi supply return
European natural gas prices edged higher Thursday with the benchmark Dutch TTF contract adding 0.45% to settle at €78.37 per megawatt-hour, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The gas price advance came even as crude oil slipped on expectations that lost Saudi Arabian supplies could return to the global market faster than initially anticipated.
Lower-than-average storage levels, especially in Germany, continue to support gas prices heading into winter, the Journal reported.
Germany has now pushed its state-owned gas trader to buy more gas in a bid to grow inventories.
