Networks suspend White House pool coverage over outlet exclusions
President Donald Trump told CNN reporters at the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday that the network “shouldn’t be here,” according to a 56-second Guardian video of the encounter. The president remarked on CNN’s presence at the gathering, telling reporters he was “surprised” the news network was covering him.
The exchange came days after Trump banned CNN, MS Now and Politico from White House coverage, the Guardian reported. Major US television networks have suspended their participation in the traditional White House press pool over the media ban, according to the Guardian’s US politics live coverage.
