Researchers say campaigns are using AI ads more than ever

Researchers say AI ads are being used more than ever in the US midterms campaign ahead of the elections in November.

BBC Verify tracks dozens of AI ads to assess how campaigns are using them. Jake Horton explains the tracking in the BBC News video report published on 24 October 2026.

Some of the ads are being funded by outside political groups, and ads have also come directly from candidates in some key races.

The BBC’s related-topic tags for the report list artificial intelligence, the United States, the US midterm elections 2026 and US Congress.
