MAGA Inc. expected to disclose end-of-September finances and donors giving more than $200

President Donald Trump said Tuesday that more than $300 million had already been spent on the upcoming midterm elections. According to UPI, the amount included advertising, contacting voters, holding rallies and support for “Election Integrity.”

UPI said “Election Integrity” apparently referred to preventing voter fraud. The outlet also noted that Trump has repeatedly claimed voter fraud is a problem without evidence.

Trump also said he was spending more than $400 million to support Republican candidates in the upcoming midterms. He made the statement in a social media post.

In the post, Trump called the upcoming elections “the Most Important Midterm Elections in our Country’s History.” He wrote: “It is my Great Honor” to provide the money “on behalf of the Republican Party, which has done so much to bring our Country back from the Edge of Oblivion.”

The Washington Post, as cited by UPI, reported that the money comes from MAGA Inc., a super PAC, and Securing American Greatness, an associated nonprofit organization. UPI described MAGA Inc. as a type of political action committee that can raise and spend unlimited amounts of money on candidates.

MAGA Inc. was expected to issue a disclosure report to the Federal Election Commission on Tuesday. The report would cover the organization’s finances as of the end of September and include donors who gave more than $200.

In the election context, UPI reported that Democrats hope to retake both the U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate in the midterm elections. Trump and other Republican leaders have said repeatedly that Democrats would “find a reason” to impeach the president if they regained majorities. UPI also noted that Trump is the only U.S. president to have been impeached twice.
