Trump could profit from his own policy announcements

Truth Social, the social media platform owned by President Donald Trump’s media company, begins selling early access to the president’s posts to Wall Street traders on Saturday, the Associated Press reported. The service raises questions about insider trading and the use of public office for private gain, according to the AP.

Other social media companies and media providers sell similar high-speed data services, the AP reported. Truth Social differs, according to the AP, because the platform generates market-moving news rather than merely distributing it: when Trump posts policy changes on topics ranging from war to central bank leadership and tariffs, the announcements have shaken markets.

Trump Media & Technology has described the service as a data feed giving institutional customers real-time access to posts from the highest-ranking accounts on the platform, including the president’s, according to the AP.

The service adds to the list of ventures Trump Media has launched since going public in 2024, including a streaming platform and crypto ventures.
