Voters will also choose governorships in 36 states on Nov. 3

The Guardian is soliciting perspectives from Americans of voting age across the political spectrum about their voting priorities in the midterm elections.

The Guardian asks respondents to identify the main issues that will determine their choices and explain why those issues matter. It is seeking detailed accounts of the concerns and priorities that could shape voting decisions on Nov. 3.

Millions of Americans will vote that day, with the election deciding control of the House of Representatives and Senate. Voters will also choose governorships in 36 states.

The Guardian cited an October New York Times/Siena College poll in which Donald Trump’s approval rating sank to 36%. Most respondents expressed frustration over his handling of the US economy, cost of living and Iran war.

People responding to the request are asked to use the accompanying form and provide as much detail as possible. The form asks voters to explain both their principal election issues and the reasons behind those priorities.

The publication says contact details can help The Guardian contact respondents for more information. Those details will be seen only by The Guardian.

Respondents who include another person’s name are asked to seek that person’s permission first. The form sets a maximum file size of 5.7 MB.

The page also provides a help link for readers having trouble using the form, along with links to The Guardian’s terms of service and privacy policy.
